Sounds of the Laeitani is a vinyl record of field recordings made of a fictional culture called the Laeitani. In actual fact, the album is constructed from field recordings of contemporary Barcelona, where I lived between 2006 and 2009. The piece explores the claims of authenticity within field recording and ethnographic sound. It was presented as an installation work at the London College of Communication in 2013.
