Radio Yesterday is a 24-hour concept radio station that only plays cover versions of the Beatles’ Yesterday, the most recorded song in music history according to the Guiness Book of Records. The project was hatched after I told Resonance FM’s director Ed Baxter that I had been collecting Yesterday covers for a while, and Ed remarked that he had always imagined a fantasy station that played only that one song.
The link above is a live blog I wrote during the first broadcast, 24 hours of listening and commentary. Radio Yesterday has become a (nearly) annual Resonance FM tradition, often broadcast on New Year’s Day.
