Caroline Bergvald’s Conference (After Attar) was a multi-channel performance for Whitstable Biennale and is part of Bergvald’s Sonic Atlas series. I devised the live performance sound design, recording a dawn chorus for the piece using an ambisonic microphone, and then live mixing the field recordings with live voices and pre-recorded composition (by Gavin Bryars), creating an immersive soundscape of birds, with the voices slowly evolving and morphing into bird song as the piece progressed.
