Folk ’77 was the name of a record produced by young women from the sixth form of Ursuline College in Margate and contains folk-style versions of contemporaneous pop songs from the late 1970s. The album was released by local record label based in Deal.

Our live evocation of the record included sections of the vinyl record itself, manipulations by YKLU and a live reading and improvised re-telling of the album’s sleeve-notes. Folk ’77 was performed in late 2024 as part of the Margate Electronics series at Margate Arts Club.
